Sheffield Young Painters 2007

Birkdale was very well represented in the Sheffield Young Painters exhibition at Ponds Forge, opened by the Lord Mayor on 27th April.
There were over 1000 entries from 65 schools in the city. Birkdale managed to win 2 out of the 3 categories in the Senior Schools category, with Oliver Lobo (S3) winning the under 14 section and Tim Barnes (Upper Sixth) winning the open mixed media section.
They won bronze plaques for themselves and silver salvers to be displayed in the school. Out of the whole entry around twenty pieces were selected to hang at the Great Sheffield Art Show in the Octagon Centre. Six of those selected were from Birkdale pupils.
