Birkdale swim to success

Birkdale Prep School enjoyed considerable success at the recent North and North East HMC Swimming Gala held at Harrogate Hydro. 16 schools entered altogether and the swimming standards were very high indeed.
The winners were Matthew Olivo who became champion in the Under 9’s Backstroke and he was also a member of the winning U10 Freestyle Relay team; talented Sammy Peters became champion of the U 10’s Breast stroke and also the U10’s Freestyle and the Freestyle Relay whilst the champion of the U11’s Freestyle was awarded to Daniel Cleveland.
The two other members of the winning Freestyle Relay team were James Davies and Thomas Hebden.
These were all wonderful achievements and the boys were very proud indeed to be representing their school to such levels of success.
