Oxbridge Recognition for Birkdale Pupils
09 January 2007

Consistency is the name of the game at Birkdale School with seven offers of places being given to either Oxford or Cambridge University to seven worthwhile students for the third year running.

Arthur Downing has been awarded an unconditional offer based on his A level achievements last summer, to read Modern History at St Peter’s College Oxford. Arthur is also an outstanding swimmer having taken part in major national and international events.

Ben Kirby has been awarded the only conditional place allocated to undergraduates to read Theology at the Permanent Private Hall of St Stephen’s Hall, Oxford.

Georgina Smallman has also been offered a conditional place at Lincoln College Oxford, to read Economics and Management. This is one of the most competitive courses in this field to secure an offer, which indicates the strength of her application.
