13 July 2007

Birkdale School, Sheffield, held their annual prize giving at the Octagon Centre, University of Sheffield.
Professor Stuart Tanner CBE, FRCPCH, Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Sheffield was guest of honour to present the prizes. He explained elements of his work both overseas and at home, emphasising how a career in medicine can be both challenging and satisfying and that it can make a real difference to people’s lives. His talk was both inspirational and enlightening to the pupils some of whom will enter medicine in the future.
The event was also attended by the Master Cutler and his wife, Mr and Mrs Reid.
