AS Geography Field Trip to the Lake District
20 March 2007
Despite very cold winds and blizzard conditions, a great deal of work was achieved during this four day visit.
A study was made of the village of Threlkeld to understand the changing functions of the village to tourism. The village population is in decline due to the popularity of the National Park and the demand for second homes.
The following two days were spent on river analysis west of Keswick and sand dune fieldwork at Drigg, south of Workington on the west coast. The data collected was then used to complete the AS fieldwork investigation worth 33% of the final grade.
