Autumn Term 2006 Archaeology News
22 March 2007
Budding archaeologist Alex Farnsworth (Upper Sixth Latin) spent the first week of term on an training dig in Dorset. He is hoping to study archaeology and anthropology at university. The dig gave him valuable insight into real life fieldwork. For photos and more information on what he and the other students uncovered, follow this link:

From October 2006, the Birkdale School library will be subscribing to the colour magazine 'British Archaeology'. The latest issue covers topics ranging from a new high-tech dating method called optically-stimulated luminescence, to archaeological destruction in modern-day Iraq, to Blackpool's contribution to world heritage. This should be a useful resource for coursework in Classical Civilisation, Latin and Greek, and maybe even in Geography and Physics!
