Significant award given to Birkdale School teacher

It was off to the Royal Society of Arts in London for Fenella Noble who teaches at Birkdale Prep School, Sheffield, to receive an award presented by the Design and Technology Association for Category 3 Subject Leadership in Design and Technology.
This award is for subject leadership in school and covers all phases of teaching
and seeks to award those who have made a significant contribution over a period of time in developing D&T in their school and have established high standards of performance from pupils in their care. Those obtaining this award will need to have displayed outstanding management skills and be excellent at promoting the subject in school
and the local area.
Fenella has consistently provided leadership in D&T to teachers in her school. Her tremendous enthusiasm and commitment has ensured that D&T enjoys high status and high standards of pupil’s achievement. Many of her pupils enter competitions and she invites engineers in to talk to students regularly. Birkdale Prep School is very fortunate indeed to have such an inspirational teacher on the staff. Well done Fenella!
