Are we “vert” yet?
07 March 2008

Pupils at Birkdale School were recently asked this question by the actors of the European Theatre Company who visited the school on Thursday 6th March, bringing their show “Cendrine Bio” by Jill Aisher.
Throughout the performance, pupils were involved in a variety of ways to bring to life the story of Cendrine, her environmentally unfriendly sisters and her friendship with the son of the local shoe-factory owner, Robert.
With singing, dancing and plenty of opportunities to take part, pupils made recycling decisions, made recycled music and even made recycling history by doing it all in French!
Mrs. Ryan, who organised the visit, said “once again Birkdale pupils have been treated to a top-quality performance by the European Theatre Company. It was great to see the boys so engaged in the play.”
S2 pupils will be designing eco-shoes and labelling them in French over the next week, just like Cendrine.
