Four Upper Sixth pupils have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge next October, subject to reaching the specified required standard in their summer A2 examinations.

At Cambridge, Tanmay Suri, an Arkwright scholar, has been offered a place at Clare College to read Medicine. This year was particularly competitive with an unusually high number of applicants applying for medicine, all of outstanding calibre. Evidently the tutors were impressed with Tanmay’s A grade in Maths at A level and also his success in five other subjects at AS, having self taught in French and Biology. Paul Denver has a place at St John’s College to read Maths. His selection was influenced by his performance in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Olympiad, which placed him in the top 50 in the country for his age group. He also achieved a distinction in Mathematics AEA at the end of his lower sixth year.

Gabor Fellner and Richard Holland, both of whom are studying 5 A levels have been offered places to read Law at Oxford. Gabor with his international background being of Hungarian origin, and having lived in USA has decided to take Law with French Law, whilst Richard hopes to study Law at St Anne’s College.
