Lower School February Half Term 2008 Ski Trip to Zell am See, Austria
20 February 2008

30 boys from S1 and S2 enjoyed six great days of skiingin good snow conditions in Austria. The weather during the week was fantastic – only one cloud was seen on the last day.
This group of boys were definitely the best skiers ever taken on the lower school trip. Many of them had attended lessons before leaving the UK and therefore progressed very quickly on to the more challenging slopes around Zell am See. The `beginner` group were coming down blue and red slopes after just one day of instruction.
We also enjoyed a day’s skiing in the resort of Kaprun. Kaprun has glacier skiing at 3000m high and the snow conditions at this height were excellent. At Kaprun we also all enjoyed dinner in the sun on the deck-chairs outside the igloo’s.
This was a very busy and tiring week as all the boys also enjoyed evening activities after a full day’s skiing. These included swimming; ice-skating, ten-pin bowling, and watching the local ice-hockey team win 5-3.
Without doubt the best lower school ski trip ever.
