Birkdale 41 Woodhouse Grove 14

In what was one of the best performances ever from a Birkdale team, the U15's progress through to the National Quarter final of the Daily Mail Vase Cup at the expense of the favourites Woodhouse Grove. The match was played at Castle Dyke, Sheffield, with many parents attending from both sides rallying their players forward.

Playing with commitment and pride from the off, Birkdale produced some outstanding expansive rugby showing great skill and smooth control of the ball. The forwards were immense in all areas of the game, allowing the backs to show their considerable flair with some well worked moves.

Birkdale will now be facing any team from across the country. The prize is a Twickenham final in March.
