Independent Schools Golf Association – Match play Tournament

Following our first round win against Kingsmead School we then came up against North Cestrian School in the second round, playing at Hallamshire Golf Club.
All three of our golfers played very well, and this resulted in a much closer fixture than last year, when we lost quite heavily to North Cestrian in the first round. However this year, after 18 holes Ted Brady and Harry Ralston halved their matches, but James Baird lost his match on the 17th green – two down with only one hole left to play. Ted Brady was one hole in the lead when he approached the 18th hole, but lost the final hole to halve his match. Harry Ralston was two holes down with two to play and won the last two holes.
This was obviously a narrow and disappointing defeat but the boys enjoyed the experience and are already looking forward to going even further in next years tournament.
