Birkdale pupils in race to win challenge

Competition: Elevator Pitch Challenge
Birkdale School was the winner in this year’s Elevator Pitch Challenge. The challenge is supported by the same Enterprise Agency involved in the national ‘Make Your Mark Challenge’ and was open to all schools in the country during the recent National Enterprise Week.
Rob Da Costa, Justin Boyd, Rohan Dhar, Angus McCarter and Ben Walker all pupils in Y10, created a product beforehand and when the competition took place were only allowed the time it would take a lift to travel to the next floor to deliver their ‘marketing pitch’. The end goal was to be able to secure an investment and business advisory support similar to those that participate on ‘Dragon’s Den’ on television, in order to get their product to the market place.
The team have now been referred to a Business Advisor and in January the idea (which is top secret currently) will be reviewed further to discuss its future.
