Pre-Prep Discover Micro Habitats

PP3 are currently enjoying learning about living things during their Science lessons.  They have studied what it is to be alive and examined the different categories that living things belong to.

The boys enjoyed hunting around the school grounds, examining different plants, collecting leaves and identifying the various parts of plants.

Later in the week the boys went to the Botanical Gardens to discover what creatures were living there. The boys looked at various micro habitats; logs and stones, long grasses, the pond and around trees. They enjoyed using magnifying glasses to closely examine the creatures and recorded the mini beasts they found in the various locations.

This week boys are planning to represent their findings artistically through large group collage. The teachers are delighted by the scientific skills the boys have demonstrated and by their enthusiasm for their activities.
