Prep 3 Visit Quarry Bank Mill
As part of their history and geography studies Prep 3 (Y5) travelled to Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire. They spent the day learning about the life and workings of the mill, as well as the physical and human geography of the site, developing their mapping skills.
The boys had the opportunity to handle the cotton before it went into the machines and attempted hand weaving. They were amazed by the sounds and smells of the mill environment and appeared fascinated as they listened to the guides explaining how life would have been for mill workers.
Mr Oakey was delighted by the orientation skills of the boys as they successfully navigated themselves around the site. These important skills will, no doubt, be useful life skills for the boys to build upon!
