Prep School Charity 2016/17
We are pleased to announce that the Prep School Charity for this academic year will be Joseph’s Goal. This initiative aims to promote awareness, increase research and find a cure for a rare condition called Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH). This is a life limiting condition that currently affects around 500 young people worldwide including a young man called Joseph Kendrick, who charity is named after.
Our school has also been aware of this condition as one of our pupil’s sister sadly passed away from complications of this condition last year. I hope you will agree with us that it is a wholly worthy initiative to raise funds for over the coming year.
Woolly Hats, Gloves and Scarves.
We have also established links with a small charity initiative that helps the homeless of our city. They have asked for some pressing practical help. With colder weather on the horizon there is a desperate need for adult size woolly hats, gloves and scarves to hand out to those unfortunate not to have a roof over their heads. If you have any of these items that you have no further need for, please hand them into your son’s form tutor and we will gladly pass them onto the charity.
Charity Tuck Shop
Just a quick reminder that the Prep Department (Prep 1 to Prep 4) runs a Charity Tuck Shop during Friday morning break in the Geography Room. This is a once a week treat for the boys with profits going to the school charity. We do limit spending on food items to £1.00 per week. Additionally, we sell drinks at 50p each.
Finally, a very big thank you from us for all your wonderful support for Charity work in the Prep School. Not only did we raise £1660 for St Luke’s Hospice last year, we contributed £3398.13 to the School’s Nepal Project. It is all very much appreciated.
