A Visitor from the Past Joins PP3
This week the PP3 boys were intrigued by a visitor from the past. Mary Jones, a victim from the Great Fire of London, appeared in the classroom to ask for the boy’s help...
Mary Jones was very distressed by her experiences escaping from the Great Fire. The boys listened with fascination as she shared her story. She described running away from the fire with her family and rowing across the River Themes and travelling North, to safety.
The PP3 boys asked many questions and promised to find out all they could about the fire to put Mary’s worries to rest about who was responsible for the fire.
Research on the computer and in books was required and the boys decided to present their findings in the form of an information book, which in due time, they would send to Mary.
