Prep School Gardening Club
The Prep boys are delighted by their new garden planters and greenhouse on the Clarke House grounds. They are enjoying developing their gardening skills and we are all looking forward to the fruits of their labour as their plants continue to flourish over the summer.
Last Friday, P3 and P4 members of Gardening Club extended their learning with a visit to the Botanical Gardens. Their objective was to help plant a pollution garden. This involved planting wheat and clover, which are sensitive to ground level ozone. They will be going back in July to see what damage has happened to the plants. Following this, the boys went on a lichen survey and learned that nitrogen dioxide affects the types of lichen that grow on the trees.
Thank you to the boys and Miss Black for working so hard to improve our school grounds.
