Prep 3 Lake District Adventure
In early June, Prep 3 embarked on their now annual visit to the Lake District. Whilst the weather forecast for the week was not good at all, as always this trip was eagerly anticipated by Prep 3 pupils and staff. Indeed, for many of the boys this would be their first residential trip away from their parents and families!
Arriving at the Kepplewray Activity centre the pupils began their stay with a hearty meal of sausage and mash - followed by exploration of the centre - particularly the games room which housed the highly popular pool table!
On Tuesday the week's activities began in earnest - archery, abseiling, canoeing, tree climbing, and of course the now famous ghyll scrambling - a combination of gorge walking and canyoning. What a feast of outdoor sports and activities was on offer.
Boys were also treated to the now renowned Mr. Cooper Quiz one evening and another highlight was the raft building - followed by the raft race - which was then followed by the again annual occurrence of some rafts proceeding to take on large amounts of water - and sink! (In controlled and safe circumstances of course).
The final day before travelling back included a visit to the outstanding Lakeland Motor Museum - which the boys absolutely loved.
Once again the Prep 3 Lakes adventure was an absolute success in every respect. Not the best of weather on some days, but a simply wonderful and action packed trip!
