Birkdale Drama perform original "promenade" play next week

Birkdale School Drama department present an original play called “Of Geraniums (red) and Delphiniums (blue)”.

Written by Birkdale’s own Head of Middle School, Mr Steve Kenyon, the play explores the complexities of growing up in 21st Century Britain. The play is presented in a unique “promenade” style where the audience follow the action by moving from scene to scene. Much of the play is outdoors around Birkdale School, although certain scenes towards the end are indoors.

Mr Kenyon said; “The play is really about growing up. I’ve been a teacher for over 30 years and I suppose it’s my thoughts and reflections about the sorts of ways we’re bringing up our young people and some of the challenges they face today. It demands that tough choices are made by the audience in response to the issues presented to them.”

“Of Geraniums (red) and Delphiniums (blue)” takes place on Monday 16th, Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th March 2015 at Birkdale School, Sheffield at 7.15pm.

If you are interested in coming along and taking part, tickets must be bought in advance from Birkdale Senior School Reception Tel: 0114 266 8408.
