Birkdale’s Assistant Chef Manager and professional photographer, Gerard Everley, had one of his outstanding landscapes of the Peak District auctioned at a prestigious event at Chatsworth recently. The large, panoramic picture raised a fantastic £1500.
The event, The Derbyshire Clay Pigeon Shoot, raises a huge amount of money each year for a range of charities. This year’s charities included: The Children’s Heart Foundation; Cavendish Cancer Care and The Children’s Hospital Charity.
Gerard said: “I am delighted that once again one of my limited edition prints has raised money for such worthy causes. My work is quite unique aiming not to mass market photographs, but to produce bespoke, high quality pieces of work. I was thrilled when last year’s photograph, which raised £2600, was bought by the Duke of Devonshire and is now part of his personal art collection.”
Based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Gerard specialises in private commissions, primarily concentrating on landscapes of the Peak District. His unique style, using only natural light and the best equipment, is earning him quite a reputation.
