On Friday 9 October the Birkdale Big Band performed at the Dronfield Civic Hall to a full house.
The ‘One Last Show’ concert - which has now become an annual event – was in order to continue fund raising for the Nepal Earthquake Charity appeal. The band was especially pleased to be joined by an old Birkdalian Ed Gosney who performed two vocal numbers - Feeling Good and Fly Me To The Moon.
Dr Spencer Pitfield, Head of Instrumental Studies and the band’s conductor said: “I am so very pleased the Big Band could perform in Dronfield to a full house of local people. It was also wonderful that our former pupil Ed Gosney could return to perform two vocal numbers and of course especially good that the band could assist in the important fund raising to support Nepal Earthquake Charities”.
