Birkdale cricketers and golfers travelled to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for a tour over half term.
The cricket team won all four of their scheduled matches; Dubai College, Zayed Cricket Academy - played at the Test match ground in Abu Dhabi - Elite Cricket Academy and the Desert Cubs. Notably Vikram Singh who led the cricketers scored a total of 196 runs over the 4 matches averaging an impressive 66 runs per game.
The golf team also had excellent wins at Al Ain - the beautiful and challenging Abu Dhabi club - and the Emirates Golf Club where both Tom Bradley and Barclay Brown carded -2 under par scores. Their other match at Jebel Ali was halved.
There was still time to visit the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix circuit, go to the top of the Burj Khalifa - the tallest building in the world - and have some fun at the Atlantis water park.
This was a fantastic trip and it is hoped that it might become a regular feature on the Birkdale school trips calendar. Much thanks to Mr Clark and Mr O'Toole for giving up their time to take the boys on this once in a lifetime trip!
