Investigating Roman and Celtic Life

On Friday 19 February 2016, all of S2 (Y8) visited Doncaster Museum to find out about the effects of the Roman occupation of Britain on our local history.
Doncaster (Danum) was the site of a Roman fort, built to protect the main Roman road from London to the North. There have been many archaeological finds in the area. S2 were able to handle several of these items and closely examine their manufacture. They were also able to build up a picture of Roman and Celtic life in the area by looking at the exhibits in the museum. This is valuable preparation for the next part of their Latin course.
