On a bright and salubrious Sunday morning, preparation for the summer 2016 practice expedition began in earnest, as forty L6 students and six Birkdale teachers boarded a coach and headed to Hayfield in the Sett Valley region of the Peak District.
In their expedition groups, the students navigated their way up and around Kinder Scout moorland plateau and National Nature Reserve, which rises to 636 metres above sea-level at its highest point. The weather conditions made for a rejuvenating day, which was a resounding success for all concerned.
