Ski Trip to Vermont

Just before the end of term 28 students and 3 staff travelled to the excellent ski resort of Killington in Vermont, USA. Despite the worst winter on record in terms of lack of snow and some extreme temperatures (72F) on Christmas Eve, the resort was a third open with over 50 trails to ski on and even some fresh snow fell on the first night.
The students spent most of the days in Ski school with excellent coaches who helped everyone to improve their skills and enjoy their learning. After ski school adventure skiing with Mr Snell and Mr Woodley was enjoyed. Miss Sever supervised the beginners until she was unfortunately incapacitated.
Our high class hotel, The Cascades Lodge, provided excellent meals in the evening and a first rate American breakfast to begin each day. Evening activities were enjoyed in the fireside lounge and the swimming pool. One evening was spent in the local town of Rutland at Bowlerama- the lively ten pin bowling alley.
On the return journey there was a visit to a shopping mall where many bargains were to be had despite the poor exchange rate at the time.
Overall a great trip which was full of activity and enjoyment.
