EU Debate with Paul Blomfield MP

Paul Blomfield, the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Central visited the school to discuss the upcoming EU Referendum recently. The visit, which was attended by members of the sixth form, was Chaired by Alex Davenport (U6).

Addressing those students and staff present Mr. Blomfield gave a highly reasoned and factually supported statement about the positive case for remaining within the EU. Thereafter, he was pleased to accept a varied questions from those pupils in attendance.

Alex Davenport said: "It was extremely kind of Mr. Blomfield to give up his valuable time - I'm sure within a most busy schedule being just after City-wide local elections - and meet with our sixth form. We have already had one earlier EU discussion, which focused more actively on the positive reasons for leaving the EU - so it was good to get the opposing view. This is not a straightforward issue by any means and as such it was excellent to have Mr. Blomfield join us and share his views so freely".
