Birkdale Support The Children’s Hospital Charity

Birkdale Senior School is delighted to announce The Children’s Hospital Charity as its nominated charity for 2016/17. Charity Co-ordinator Gemma Bower, Community Fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital, visited the school to talk to students about the vitally important work done by the charity. Last year alone the charity raised £3.3million to fund equipment and improve facilities for thousands of children.

Birkdale students will raise money over the coming months towards the Make It Better appeal and aim to raise £25k to fund an en-suite bedroom at the hospital where parents can stay with their children during treatment. The remaining cost of the room is funded by the government.

The charities team at Birkdale will be planning a number of events. If you are interested in joining the team or have any fundraising ideas, please forward them to Mr Sanderson.
