The History Society organised a tour of Sheffield's recently restored General Cemetery which took place on Sunday.
A particular emphasis was put on the military memorials as this Remembrance Sunday marks the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, on the first day of which 60,000 British soldiers died, among them were most of the Sheffield PALs regiment.
Mr Clarke, who is also Chairman of the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, guided the tour group through the cemetery and the tour concluded in the Samuel Worth Chapel which was opened four days ago after 50 years of dereliction.
