Wind in the Willows Birkdale Style
01/07/2008

Ratty,Toad and Mole

Did you know that hedgehogs are, 'good on the road' or that rabbits are often, 'at a loose end'?

They are according to Alan Bennett in his witty stage adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's immortal book, 'The Wind in the Willows'.

Birkdale School has produced a fast-moving and spectacular version of this old classic, with Mole, Rat and Badger trying to keep the recalcitrant Toad in hand.

With the assistance of a team of pupil make-up artists, all of whom had a recent crash course from a professional on the skills of creating animal faces, the play was a resounding success.
