Thirteen S1 and S2 pupils have just completed the Bikeability Cycling proficiency test run by Pedal Ready of Sheffield and funded by Sheffield City Council.
This test was taken over four two-hour sessions during Monday afternoon games sessions in very inclement and challenging winter weather. The 8 hours of tuition and examination using roads in and around the Broomhill area, focused on aspects such as bike maintenance, bike control and road safety.
Birkdale is currently developing its school travel plan which is under review and one of the aims is to promote cycling to school.
