Congratulations to all members of the senior Rugby 7’s team who defeated Lady Manner’s School from Bakewell, in a very closely contested final. Their teamwork and defensive play was outstanding.
The event, hosted by Birkdale, involved many local schools. Castle Dyke weather provided play in both flurries of light snow and lovely sunshine but this did not prevent any of the players from providing an afternoon of very enjoyable rugby.
‘Man of the Tournament’ was awarded to James Twomey for his many tries delivered at very fast pace usually the length of the pitch.
