Twenty five pupils left for the annual Birkdale School Easter visit to Nepal yesterday where they will be teaching within several local schools in Kathmandu.
The accompanying staff will be taking out nearly £10,000 to the Peace Garden & Mount Carmel Schools in Kathmandu, both of which are supported by Birkdale. This money will pay for nine little orphans to be educated as well as various other important services that will be provided in the near future.
Much of this money was raised at a recent Auction of Promises when parents and pupils from the school offered a variety of facilities and services to be bought at auction. Total raised on the evening was £6500.
Another significant fund raiser was a recent Jumble Sale which further added £1700.
