Talented cricketers from Birkdale School have successfully become the Yorkshire U15 champions in the ECB/ESCA National U15 Twenty20 Cup Competition.

Birkdale beat Hayfield School in Doncaster to become the South Yorkshire winners. They then played and beat, Woodhouse Grove School from Apperley Bridge near Bradford,by 9 wickets in the Yorkshire semi-final.

The Yorkshire final, which was also the National quarter final, was played against Harrogate Grammar School at Methley Cricket Club, near Leeds. Birkdale won this final by 16 runs.

They now play the Royal Grammar School from Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North final on June 30th. The winners will go to the National final at Headingley in September.

We wish all the players and coach Mr Clark every success as they enter the latter stages of this prestigious competition.
