Birkdale U15 Cricket team played against Monkwearmouth School from Sunderland in the North semi-final of the ECB/ESCA National U15 Twenty20 Competition. They won this match convincingly 171 for one with Monkwearmouth only scoring 166 for 8. The match took place at Kendal Cricket Club.
This then placed them against a very strong Manchester Grammar School in the North final. Despite every effort by each Birkdale player right up to the very last ball, Birkdale was defeated by 10 wickets.
The players are to be commended for their immense commitment and team work which were major factors in the success of this team to get them so near to the final.
