Heads held High by Birkdale Boys in National Golf Final
04/05/2010

The golf team

The ISGA National Golf Final was held at Oulton Hall in Leeds over two days (25/26 April). Sixteen teams of three players from all over the UK participated in the national competition. They were all regional winners.

Birkdale’s team was Ted Brady (U6 and Captain), James Gregg (Y11) and William Tickell (L6). They played two rounds with the best two scores counting and managed a 74 and a 75 on a par of 71 to finish 6th out of 16 teams. This was a strong performance given the level of the opposition and the facilities and support some of the players have.

Ted won a gold medal for coming in the top 16 players. James won a silver (he missed gold by one shot), and Will won a bronze medal. The boys also received a trophy for winning the regional competition.

It is the first time that Birkdale have won the regional heat.Congratulations to each of the players.
