Are PP1 ‘Little Mozart’s’ in the making?
12/05/2010

in the crucible

PP1 had a wonderful musical treat this week at the Little Mozart Workshop.

The boys excitedly caught the public bus into the centre of Sheffield and began the morning looking around the Winter gardens particularly hunting for animal statues which linked with their current learning about living things.

Next the boys went to the newly refurbished Crucible theatre to watch ‘Ensemble 360 music in the round’. The boys were entertained by musicians playing the violin, viola and cello.

The workshop held the boys attention with plenty of opportunity to get involved. They listened for instructions in the music telling them how to move. They also listened for different emotions and tried to show these feelings with their movements. There was also opportunity to join in with percussion instruments.

The boys really enjoyed their time and the workshop certainly gave a fun approach to young children’s appreciation of music.
