33 boys from S2 and S3 spent their half-term holidays enjoying the cultural and linguistic highlights of Alsace and the Black Forest. In an action-packed two days the boys took a guided boat tour of Strasbourg, visited a show in one of the region’s chateaux, conducted a survey in French, blew glass to make vases, cycled to Lake Titisee, bought ice-creams in Lahr and complete diaries in French or German of what they had done each day.
The visit was however not all about work and incorporated a full-day visit to the “Europapark”, Germany’s largest theme park. The ever-popular Silver Star now has a new rival, Blue Fire, which made the visit even more enjoyable for the boys.
At the end of the trip all the boys had made progress with their French and German, seen lots of places and enjoyed themselves doing it.
