44 boys from Prep 4 have recently returned from the annual French trip, this year to Bayeux in Normandy.
The accommodation, a short walk from the centre of town, provided comfortable spacious facilities with plenty of room to play and excellent French style meals.
The boys were encouraged to try out their French in ordering drinks in cafes and in buying postcards and ice-creams in town and pains au chocolat at the local boulangerie.
Activities included a sand castle building competition, shopping in the local market, visits to American and German military cemeteries, a tour of a cheese-making plant producing Camembert cheese and of course a detailed look at the famous Bayeux Tapestry.
A similar trip is already planned for next year!
