Prep School
Welcome to what might well be your first taste of Birkdale. I hope that what you find on this web site gives you a flavour of what we are about and encourages you to come to meet our school community.
Life is one continuous journey and preparations for your children's journey are essential and will be shaped by the quality of the learning experiences provided for them and by the quality of the relationships that they encounter along the way.
The Preparatory School is located at Clarke House, near the Botanical Gardens. The house itself has stood the test of time for all of the 20th century and nearly all the 19th. It was the home of Sir Samuel Osborn, Master Cutler, then a School, a Nurses Training establishment and now a thriving Independent Boys’ Preparatory School, whose Head is a member of IAPS. It has adapted, or been adapted for change and if our children are also to meet the challenge of the future then they too must be equipped for change, and given the finest educational foundations.
At the 4 – 11 school in Clarke House, great care is given to involve staff and parents in collaborative parenthood and boys are encouraged to explore the full breadth of their potential.
Our teachers and support staff are both caring and committed, and each boy is viewed as an individual to be nurtured throughout his time here.
We are fortunate to enjoy excellent facilities which are used to the full. Please do come and visit us and see what we have to offer your son. We welcome all visitors warmly at any time.
