Prep 3 and 4 Rugby Tour to Edinburgh
The 3rd Birkdale Prep School Edinburgh Tour departed Sheffield on 11th February 2008.
A group of 28 boys from Prep 3 and Prep 4 made up the tour party. They were accompanied by ID Shuttleworth, AJ Oakey, JR Leighton, FG Kirkham, NT Brook and MO Dennis.
A number of visits were planned around the fixtures to provide the boys with a full and varied itinerary. These included visits to Alnwick Gardens, The Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Lazer Quest, and a tour of Murrayfield Stadium.
The rugby proved a real success with the Under 11’s gaining victories against Linlithgow, Lasswade and Penycuik with a draw against Dalkeith. The Under 10’s had narrow defeats against Linlithgow after extra time and Dalkeith but gained victories against Lasswade.
It was a fantastic trip enjoyed by all the students and staff.
