Birkdale School are delighted to announce their 2014 GCSE results. Birkdale for many years have consistently produced outstanding GCSE results and this year, despite media predictions of a down turn; have once more delivered exceptional results.

Overall one third of exam entries achieved A* grade and 60% were A*or A grade.

The top grades were across the curriculum indicating Birkdale’s strength in both Arts and Science subjects. Notably Mathematics and Physics achieved 100% pass rate A*-C with over 40% of candidates achieving A* grade. French and Geography were also excellent, again with over 40% of pupils achieving A* grade.

Several Birkdale pupils achieved 11 A* grades with even more achieving 10 A* grades. Twins Benjamin and Killian Dockrell both achieved 11 GCSE’s at either A* or A grade.

Head Master Dr Paul Owen said “I am delighted that Birkdale pupils have once again received outstanding GCSE results. My congratulations go to all of them. We encourage all of our pupils to achieve their personal best and fulfil their potential. We look forward to welcoming the vast majority back to our Sixth Form where they will continue their studies.”
