This week, PP3 have been learning all about the Plague which struck England nearly four hundred years ago.

We followed this up with a fantastic History hike out in the Peak District.  The first part of our walk took us up a very steep hill overlooking Eyam village. After enjoying the stunning views, we walked over to look at Mompesson’s Well, then walked back down to the village where we investigated Eyam church and the neighbouring cottages, where many victims of the plague had lived.

The boys really enjoyed being out in the countryside and were able to recall relevant historical facts at key places, demonstrating the keen interest they have taken in this story.
