On Tuesday afternoon the boys in P3 & P4 participated in an enthralling production of Macbeth by The Young Shakespeare Company.
The boys were thrown into Shakespeare’s story through a practical, collaborative discovery process. The experience was enhanced by their commitment, and the imaginative engagement which the boys brought to the characters in Macbeth.
Through active storytelling, the story, language and characters were interwoven in the creation of Shakespeare’s imaginative world, a world in which fantasy and reality blur and disbelief is willingly suspended. The boys developed a deeper understanding of the plot, characters and themes, thrilled and excited about what they had seen.
