The Nepa19 training weekend took place at Castle Dyke last Friday night. 42 Nepa19 members were preparing for the three week service and charity expedition to Nepal, which departs on 26 March.

The preparation incorporated: camping overnight on the floor; sharing and preparing breakfast and lunch; creating teaching plans; fundraising; trekking; jungle and rafting advice; health and cultural information plus team building activities. This all culminated in a 4 hour trek around Houndkirk Moor, Lady Cannings Plantation, Porter Brook & the Mayfield Valley on Saturday. What made the trek more magical was the beautiful snowy landscape.

The weekend preparation allows those travelling to Nepal to get to know one another and provides the relevant training so that everyone can immerse themselves with the Nepalese people and share in the amazing experiences from the day they arrive. Everyone is really looking forward to a fantastic trip!
