The departments of Economics and Politics took 21 students to London on a typically sunny Monday 1st July. The group began with a relatively early morning trip to Number 10 Downing Street, with a few students considering popping their CVs through the letterbox for the top job…

The group then had a tour of the Bank of England along with an exclusive cinema showing of a film on recent monetary policy. After lunch at The Monument to the Great Fire of London, we had a tour of both Houses of Parliament, including some time watching live debates from the public gallery. We then had a superb Q & A session with MP for Sheffield Central, Paul Blomfield.

After exploring the culinary and retail delights of the West End, the group travelled back to Sheffield, having enjoyed a packed and memorable day.
