The music department Autumn Solos Concert took place last night, featuring 15 brilliant performers from S1 through to the Sixth Form playing a wide variety of music, from Bach to Oscar Peterson.

The evening opened with a performance from Thomas playing ‘I Giorni’ by Einaudi and it was lovely to see an S1 pupil opening the concert. There were performances on the piano by Seth, Abdullah, Samuel, Oscar, Marcus, George and Adam. We also enjoyed excellent unaccompanied performances by Chris on the cornet and Jacob on the clarinet. Nayan played the 3rd movement of the Vivaldi Violin Concerto in A minor and Lucas entertained with his performance of ‘Black Bottom’ on the double bass. Chris played a piece by Mendelssohn on the clarinet. Sixth Form student Lucy sang a beautiful rendition of ‘It Means Beautiful’ from the musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. The evening closed with a rousing rendition of Baker Street on the alto saxophone which was performed by James. Well done to all those involved.
