Whilst our annual trip to Nepal can’t take place this coming Easter, we are delighted with the overwhelming response from our Lower Sixth students to be a part of the Nepal team this year.
Students were offered the opportunity to work alongside the Nepal team, to keep up the good work achieved over the last 20 years. Their aim will be to continue to raise charitable funds and assist the positive work of the Peace Garden School, the Annandit Charity and others who are in need.
Nepal has a longstanding history of voluntary service, aiming to assist those in need and develop a positive ethical approach to our lives, this will continue to be an important part for those students joining the team this year. The team of students will engage with NGO professionals, to shape the future of the Nepal project.
Their response shows a brilliant depth of character and resolve to work hard and help those in need. A particular application from Lewis has captured this mood.
‘When hearing in your assembly that there was no way of doing a trip for my year group I was really disheartened but quickly realised that having the mindset of the trip being purely for my enjoyment was selfish because the real reason it exists is to help others less fortunate.’
Well done to all applicants you are a credit to the school community.
