It’s that time again; this year’s Gold DofE expedition is on the horizon, meaning that all 48 Lower Sixth participants headed out to the Peak District for a day of map reading, camp craft, and first aid – not to mention a fair bit of walking!

Meeting outside Hathersage train station, the hardy bunch headed for picturesque Bretton Clough, where the day’s activities began in earnest. Pitching a tent, using a gas stove, administering basic outdoor first aid, navigating, and compass work all featured, and after three hours, everyone headed back down into Hathersage for some well-deserved R&R.

The Practice expedition begins on July 7th and will take place in the Ullswater region of the Lake District.
