It was heartening to see the S4 boys head out to the Peaks for their two-day Bronze DofE expedition and camp this week. The year was split in two, and each half undertook the expedition while the other half enjoyed some abseiling around Burbage, and learned bush-craft skills from Bear Bridle. After a wet and dismal first day, the weather improved massively, meaning that for the most part the boys were able to hone their navigational and camp-craft skills in the glorious sunshine. It’s worth noting that this would never have happened without the superlative organisational skills of Mr Watchman and Mr Cook – the latter even providing an impromptu assembly on Tuesday morning.
